Keeper Review
Keeper is an exciting and enjoyable young adult novel by Kim Chance. The story revolves around sixteen-year-old Lainey Styles and her friend Maggie Dawson. Lainey is a bookworm who’s always preparing and studying for college. Logic and reason have always been a major part of her life, but she soon finds herself questioning everything she’s ever learned when she gets attacked by a 200-year-old witch.
The story is well written and there is a lot of great imagery throughout the story. Everything flows really well and the story keeps you turning the page to see what happens next. The characters are enjoyable and their motivations are clear and they held my attention through the whole story. It has a satisfying conclusion, but it leaves the door open for the story to continue in the next book.
Though the story wasn’t completely perfect, I still thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fantasy’s that have a lot of magic and a bit of mystery in them. My overall rating for this book is four stars.
